Learned Framer with Ryan
A UX designer who had used Framer for years by pulling templates apart, and wanted the confidence to build from an empty frame.
Brooke Kong is a UX designer at a non-profit that sits inside a university communication school. Her team is small, and their developer is also their data person, so a lot of what she wanted to ship as a designer used to sit in a queue.
Moving the sites to Framer
So she moved their sites to Framer. One of them, a project with Netflix and Cate Blanchett, now runs on it. Next is the organisation’s own site. Until now they had a one-pager attached to the university and had to put in a request to change anything. Soon they will own it.
Work paid for it
The day the Ultimate Framer Masterclass came out, she asked her boss if work would pay for it. The answer was yes.
The step she had skipped
The interesting part is that Brooke was not new to Framer. She had used it for years, learning by pulling apart templates and pre-made sections. Useful, but she was always working from someone else’s structure.
“I didn’t think I needed to know that until I saw Ryan just start from the very beginning.”
Watching someone build frame by frame, layout by layout, filled in the part she had never been taught. The fundamentals were what turned years of familiarity into confidence.
“Before, the way I learned was deconstructing. Now I have the confidence to construct on my own.”
